Marmoleum: The Alternative Natural Flooring

Posted on: 13th July 2016

If you’re thinking about having an alternative natural flooring installed in your home, your first thoughts will probably be of sisal and seagrass carpets. These woven carpets are gaining popularity amongst the ecologically minded, but they aren’t the only natural flooring out there. Linoleum might not spring to mind, but at Reform Flooring we supply a miraculous type of Lino called Marmoleum, which is manufactured from 97% natural materials.

From Field to Floor

The linseed plant is rapidly renewable: fields of it can be grown in a single season. Their flowers are a stunning blue and a field of linseed can look like a lake when all the plants are in bloom. The seeds are harvested and turned into linseed oil that is mixed with rosin to create the basis for linoleum.

Ohhh! Marmoleum

At Reform Flooring, our supplier of linoleum floors is global brand Forbo Flooring Systems. Their brand of linoleum, Marmoleum, is made from 97% natural raw materials and a 43% recycled content. Strong and durable, Forbo describe it as ‘the world’s leading sustainable resilient flooring’.
