Clean and Caring

Vinyl is known as an especially practical flooring option that is an excellent choice when it comes to maintaining the hygiene in your home. Whether it’s heavy-footfall or regular cleaning, vinyl can withstand a lot from its users. That being said, a few precautions are a good idea when cleaning your vinyl flooring. Doormats at all entranceways to your home will capture and prevent large amounts of dust from entering. When you do need to mop your vinyl floor, make sure to sweep first to prevent grit becoming ingrained or spread around.

Soft Approach

Check the instructions of your cleaning products to make sure they are suitable for vinyl floors and steer clear of abrasive cleaning sponges as these may tone down the shine of your flooring. Steam mops are not recommended for vinyl floors. Avoid scuffing and scratching the floor by moving furniture carefully or attaching protective covers to the feet of your tables and chairs. If you do identify any scuffed or marked patches, try to clean this as soon as you find it. A soft sponge and a gentle floor cleaner should do the trick.

Easy Clean

As well as mopping up any spills right away, it’s a good idea to sweep or vacuum daily to keep your floor clean. A more thorough mop with a neutral detergent can then be completed either weekly or daily, depending on where in the house your vinyl floor is situated. Use warm rather than boiling hot water when mopping, as this could warp or dull the vinyl.
